An É«ÇéÍøÕ¾n Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) is the rank assigned to eligible Year 12 students in all É«ÇéÍøÕ¾n states and territories. Some high schools also offer the Diploma of the International Baccalaureate (IB) program. If you do not have an ATAR or IB score, you can still receive a Selection Rank on the basis of previous secondary schooling, tertiary studies, vocational studies (VET) bridging and enabling studies, tertiary admissions tests or work experience and qualifications.

Most Griffith degrees are based on assumed knowledge. This is knowledge you are expected to have gained through certain subjects at school and on which you'll be able to build at university. It is not required for your application or admission but it will make the degree's material more accessible.

If you don't have the assumed knowledge expected for your desired degree, we strongly encourage you to undertake bridging courses in order to strengthen your foundation for study.

Some degrees, including law, education, paramedicine and occupational therapy, have subject prerequisites as a condition of admission. Check out our pages on Prerequisites and assumed knowledge.

To be eligible for admission to Griffith programs, you must meet the University's English Language Proficiency (ELP) requirements.

In most cases, applicants will meet these requirements if they have completed (and provided evidence of) secondary or post-secondary studies in É«ÇéÍøÕ¾ or another country that has been defined as having English as their first language in .

If English is not your first language or you have qualifications from countries where English is not the standard language of instruction, and you have not met ELP via another means, you must provide evidence of English language proficiency i.e. the capacity to speak, write, read and comprehend English to a specified standard.

Accredited programs such as Education, Nursing and Midwifery programs, have higher ELP requirements. You should review the language requirements on Degree Finder for your desired program, to determine if you are required to provide evidence of English Language proficiency. For these programs, evidence of meeting language requirements may only be provided by completing an approved English language proficiency test or additional evidence may be required.

You can find indicative fees for specific degrees via our study website. Most domestic students studying an undergraduate degree are eligible for a Commonwealth Supported Place. This means the majority of the cost is covered by the É«ÇéÍøÕ¾n Government and you only pay a smaller portion.

Tracking your application

QTAC and UAC will acknowledge they’ve received your application. If you applied directly to Griffith, we will confirm your application has been submitted.

If you feel that your application result hasn’t come through when you’d expect it to, there are a few reasons why it may have been held up, including:

Outstanding requirements

There may be outstanding information that’s missing from your application. For example, if you’ve indicated that you have relevant work experience but not attached a CV, stated you have completed a qualification and not uploaded your transcript or if you’ve uploaded an incorrect file type.

Additional supporting documentation is required

You may need to provide additional supporting documentation to assess your application. You will receive a notification requesting you provide these documents to recommence the assessment process.

Depending on how you applied to the university, you will need to complete some simple steps to confirm your place as a Griffith University student.

If you applied through QTAC or UAC, your offer will come directly from them - so keep an eye out for that. Once you have your offer, you may have a short time to respond, so make sure you get back to them quickly.
