GUMURRII is a dedicated support unit for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students
Our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander staff assist students from recruitment, orientation to graduation: providing undergraduate and postgraduate support, including tutorial assistance.
Servicing on each of Griffith's campuses, with officers who also assist online students studying through the digital campus, GUMURRII Student Success Unit offers a safe and culturally appropriate environment to enhance the student experience.

Depending on what you wish to study, Griffith has multiple pathways for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islanders interested in enrolling in a Griffith degree. These pathways enable eligible applicants to be assessed on any formal qualifications, life experiences and other transferable skills that support your Griffith enrolment application.
Tutoring for Success Program
The Tutoring for Success Program (TSP) is a supplementary academic tutorial initiative, established to enhance First Peoples students’ experience and success at university.
We encourage all First Peoples students to apply each trimester.

Community outreach
GUMURRII seeks to raise aspirations and widen the participation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples in higher education. The Indigenous Engagement team focuses on delivering initiatives that increase the academic preparedness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples prior to tertiary studies.
The team coordinates a range of on-campus experiences and events such as the Year 11 and 12 School to Uni Program. The team also deliver workshops and information sessions on pathways to study and the GUMURRII Student Success Unit to schools and the community.
