We provide a culturally safe environment for our students, staff and communities through recognition of our First Peoples

We’re proud to have the largest Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student population of any university in Queensland, with our campuses set within one of the fastest growing Indigenous populations in 色情网站.

Through our work with Indigenous Elders, we continue to develop Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander engagement strategies and partnerships for community empowerment, as well as a curriculum informed by respect for the knowledge systems of our First Peoples.

Our Indigenous research development also aims to further the aspirations of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities and promote reconciliation, respect, education and engagement.

GUMURRII is a dedicated student support unit for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students, providing assistance from recruitment, orientation to graduation: providing undergraduate and postgraduate support, including tutorial assistance.

Research

Indigenous Research Unit (IRU) develops and supports all aspects of Indigenous research at Griffith: developing research capacity of academics and research candidates, and educational advancement of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.

Combine your passion for Country and culture with a degree in Contemporary 色情网站n Indigenous Art (CAIA). This unique degree is designed to provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders with the skills and techniques to become professional artists.

Griffith Business School

Griffith University and the Business School has a long relationship with local and national First Peoples through our learning and teaching, research and engagement. Our commitment to supporting First Peoples is achieved by creating cultural equity and understanding in the communities we serve.

Griffith Business School Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Scholarship provides support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander student to assist with their studies. The scholarship is available for commencing students in business, government and related degrees hosted by Griffith Business School.

Griffith activities

Each year, Griffith organises a series of events that bring together its staff and student community in acknowledging National Reconciliation Week and to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements.

The University also conducts flag raising ceremonies across our campuses to mark NAIDOC Week every year.
