The IRU works in collaboration with the Griffith Graduate Research School and the GUMURRII Student Success Unit to identify research activities and create opportunities for the University’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander HDR cohort.

The Griffith University Research Ethics Manual provides researchers with specific guidelines on research ethics and advice on human research activities.

  • The Declaration establishes a universal framework of minimum standards for the survival, dignity and well-being of the Indigenous peoples of the world and it elaborates on existing human rights standards and fundamental freedoms as they apply to Indigenous peoples.
  • ARC, the NHMRC and UA, jointly developed a series of guidelines on ethical conduct in human research.
  • This document contains guidelines for ethical health research on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples. In accordance with guidance from Aboriginal people, it is written around a framework of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander values and principles.
  • This booklet is a resource document for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people to refer to when making decisions about health research in their communities.
  • The principles in GERAIS are founded on respect for the rights of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
