Professor Juliet Pietsch

Head of School

Professor Juliet Pietsch is a leading scholar in the specialist fields of migration politics and political behaviour in É«ÇéÍøÕ¾ and Southeast Asia. She has published more than 60 research publications, including six single-authored and co-authored books and edited collections. Juliet has also played a lead investigator role on six ARC grants - collectively worth more than $1.6 million - that involve the development of research data infrastructure for the study of migration and political behaviours.

Professor Huiyun Feng

Acting Deputy Head of School and Director, Learning and Teaching

Professor Huiyun Feng is a professor of international relations. She has worked in the US, Denmark, and Singapore before moving to É«ÇéÍøÕ¾. Her research area is foreign policy analysis, international security, Asian security and Chinese foreign policy.

Dr Max Grömping

Director, Research

Dr Max Grömping studies the information environment of political systems and how it affects political trust and responsive policymaking. His work on lobbying, information integrity, and electoral governance is published in leading international journals and book presses. Prior to joining Griffith he held positions in Germany and Thailand. He is Associate Editor of the journal Democratization, an invited affiliate of the International Panel on the Information Environment (IPIE), and currently co-leads two ARC Discovery Projects on Public Interest Advocacy, and on Mapping & Harnessing Public Mistrust.

Dr Ellie Martus

Director, Engagement

Working across environmental politics and public policy, Ellie’s research explores the role of industry in shaping environmental and climate policy. Ellie holds a PhD in Politics from the University of New South Wales, an MPhil in Russian and East European Studies from Oxford University and a Bachelor of International Studies from the University of New South Wales. From 2017 to 2019, Ellie was a WIRL-Marie SkÅ‚odowska-Curie COFUND Research Fellow at the University of Warwick, and has previously held visiting positions at the University of Helsinki’s Aleksanteri Institute and the É«ÇéÍøÕ¾n National University.
