The Arts, Education and Law ( AEL ) Group undertake outstanding scholarship and ground-breaking research that makes a major contribution to society. The Group has around 400 academic staff and 600 higher degree research (HDR) students, contributing to top international peer-reviewed journals or generating significant exhibitions or performances.

2021 Three Minute Thesis (3MT)
Three Minute Thesis ( 3MT ) is an academic competition that challenges HDR candidates to describe their research in a language that can be understood by a non-specialist audience, within just three minutes.
Throughout the competition, participants develop their presentation and communication skills, honing their ability to explain their research in a brief and engaging manner.

Identifying HDR supervisors
Applicants are expected to identify at least two possible supervisors in their application for admission. You may wish to contact the relevant HDR Convenor listed below for advice on enrolment and potential supervisors.

Find a supervisor
Depending on your area of study and research, you may be starting at the very beginning with a unique proposal, or you may be able to join an established Griffith research project.
If considering your own proposal, you will need to identify two potential supervisor who work in your area of interest.
The Griffith Experts database allows you to search all academic experts conducting research across all major disciplines. You can review academic profiles, previous publications and current projects, to help you find a potential supervisor. Once found, you should email them directly to discuss your research proposal.

HDR scholarships
We offer a range of generous scholarship programs that can cover tuition fees, living allowances paid as stipends, relocation and publication assistance. Scholarships are offered to domestic and international doctorate or masters by research applicants in two competitive application rounds each year.
