Griffith University makes the following commitments to donors:
To use gifts effectively and ethically in line with donor intent
Griffith will strive to manage and use philanthropic gifts in an efficient, effective and ethical manner, for their intended purpose.
The University will do its best to honour the donor’s intent. In the unlikely event it becomes impractical or impossible to carry out the donor’s expressed wishes, or where Griffith reasonably believes they are no longer suitable, the University will establish the most effective means of using the gift. Griffith will communicate any significant gift changes to the donor or the donor’s nominated representative.
The University reserves the right to decline gifts where acceptance would compromise our fundamental principles, including academic freedom.
To be transparent, informative and professional
Griffith representatives (volunteers, students or University staff) will identify themselves when they contact current or potential donors.
The University will endeavour to keep donors updated about their philanthropy’s use and impact, and our evolving priorities.
On request, Griffith will provide relevant information about the University, and the gift’s use and/or progress.
To respect the privacy of donors
Griffith University values the privacy of every individual’s personal information and is committed to protecting your personal information. Donors’ details will be treated with respect and in alignment with the Griffith University Privacy Statement.
The Privacy Statement applies to all personal information held by us. All groups and elements must collect, manage and use personal information in accordance with this Privacy Statement.
To acknowledge all donations
All donors will receive an official Griffith University receipt suitable for taxation purposes, and appropriate acknowledgement and recognition for their gifts.
