The Quantum and Advanced Technologies Talent Building Program Honours Scholarships will support students in conducting research in key interest areas
The Quantum and Advanced Technologies Talent Building Program aims to build the talent pipeline for the quantum and advanced technologies ecosystem in Queensland. The objectives of the program are to:
- contribute to and strengthen participation of students in quantum and advanced technologies for those who identify as women or non-binary, are of Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander descent, or are from regional areas
- train a new generation of honours students into excellent quantum researchers capable of being pioneers in this emerging discipline
- build technology capability and skills across a range of fields
- improve translation and commercialisation skills
- foster collaboration across academia and industry.

Scholarship details
To be eligible you must:
- be an 色情网站n citizen, 色情网站n permanent resident or humanitarian visa holder, New Zealand citizen, or international student
- be a continuing student entering your honours year within Griffith Sciences or be commencing* a Griffith Sciences honours degree in 2025 with an approved research topic relating to:
- Quantum
- Compound semi-conductors
- Superconductors
- Photonics
- Micro-electromechanical systems
- be studying full-time
- have achieved a minimum GPA 6.
*Current honours students who are enrolled in their first trimester of study and have a research project in one of the eligible research areas can lodge an online scholarship application.
You must have a supervisor that has agreed to work with you and has approved your research project.

Value
Maximum value is $10,000. Instalments of $5,000 are payable in Trimester 1 and 2 provided conditions are met.

Payment
Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date subject to maintaining ongoing terms and conditions.
Payment is made, after census, on confirmation the recipient is enrolled at Griffith University and still meets eligibility requirements.
To remain eligible for the scholarship, recipients will be required to:
- remain full-time enrolled at Griffith University in the Griffith Sciences honours degree, and as per the approved honours research topic for which the scholarship was awarded
- maintain satisfactory progress in the program
- study in consecutive trimesters.
Recipients will agree to be included in Queensland Government promotional material that may include identification of names, project details and related information.
Recipients may be asked to participate in media/promotion events, however this participation is not mandatory.
Recipients must acknowledge the Queensland Government Department of Environment, Science and Innovation’s funding in all relevant published material relating to the honours project.
Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
You are invited to develop a research project and seek appropriate supervision in one of the eligible research areas (refer to the Eligibility section) to develop custom project proposals tailored to a combination of the candidate’s strengths and faculty research interests.
The research conducted in the eligible areas is generally but not exclusively within the portfolio of the Queensland Quantum and Advanced Technologies Research Institute. You can also search for available supervisors using key words in .
Search for researchers in the areas of Quantum, Compound semi-conductors, Superconductors, Photonics, Micro-electromechanical systems (MEMS).
Once you have the support of a proposed supervisor, you can lodge an online scholarship application.
