Patricia Fronek was a passionate advocate for disadvantaged students and the Patricia Fronek Memorial Bursaries are a tribute to her generous support of Griffith students. The bursaries support social work students affected by financial hardship.

Scholarship details
To be eligible, you must:
- be a Griffith University Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Social Work (Honours), or Master of Social Work student
- demonstrate financial hardship based on a comprehensive assessment by the University
- not have been given any other scholarships or financial support in the past 12 months from Griffith University.

Statements
To give yourself the best chance, we recommend you complete the personal statement, all statements you complete will be considered.
- Personal statement (maximum 500 words): Cover your career goals, community involvement, scholarship benefit
- Challenges statement (maximum 250 words): Cover challenges you've faced or overcome
- Supporting documentation: It is recommended that you upload a copy of your CV. Please upload the following formats only: PDF , Word, jpeg or Excel. We cannot guarantee other formats will be accepted.
Value
Maximum value is $1,000, payable in a single instalment on confirmation of continued enrolment in the degree following the census date.
Payment
Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.
Please note, payments made whilst studying part-time may be taxable.
Payment is made, after census, on confirmation that you are enrolled at Griffith University in a social work degree.
If a recipient fails to successfully meet this condition, the bursary payment will be withheld, or the bursary may be terminated.
Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.
Offers are made via email.
Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information.
Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
