Support for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students to pursue a business degree

The purpose of the KPMG Indigenous 色情网站n Business School Scholarship is to provide support for Indigenous students studying an undergraduate degree at Griffith Business School affected by different types of educational disadvantage (financial hardship, educational disruption, disability or others) that have impacted their ability to achieve their full potential.

Separately to this scholarship, recipients are encouraged to apply for work experience or vacation placement at KPMG. Recipients may also be invited to participate in events hosted by KPMG/Griffith to promote the Reconciliation Action Plans and participate in the Indigenous Business Network.

Scholarship details

To be eligible, you must:

  • be an 色情网站n citizen
  • be Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander*
  • be enrolled at Griffith University in an undergraduate degree hosted by the Griffith Business School
  • have completed at least 80CP with the Griffith Business School
  • be enrolled full-time
  • have a minimum GPA of 4.0

*Confirmation of Heritage will be required (a letter of confirmation is usually obtained from an incorporated Indigenous organisation and stamped with their Common Seal).

Statements

Information provided by individuals in their Griffith online scholarship application is assessed and ranked in accordance with the following Educational Disadvantage Assessment categories:

Value

The scholarship is valued at $12,500, paid in instalments of $6,250 in Trimester 1 and Trimester 2 only, provided conditions are met (pro-rata part-time payments).

Subject to approval by the donor, the scholarship may continue for an additional period. The continuation of the scholarship is at the discretion of the donor and is subject to the recipient meeting the terms and conditions of the scholarship for each applicable year. Recipients will be notified in writing of the outcome each applicable year.

Separately to this scholarship, recipients are encouraged to apply for work experience or vacation placement at KPMG. Recipients may also be invited to participate in events hosted by KPMG/Griffith to promote the Reconciliation Action Plans and participate in the Indigenous Business Network.

Payment

Payments are made up to six weeks after the census date subject to satisfying scholarship terms and conditions.

To remain eligible for the scholarship, the recipient will be required to:

  • remain enrolled as a full-time student (40CP) in the Griffith Business School hosted degree
  • maintain a minimum GPA of 4.0.

The above conditions are verified each trimester at census date. If a scholarship recipient fails to successfully meet these conditions, it is at the discretion of the selection panel to withhold the trimester instalment or terminate the scholarship. The recipient must show cause to the Scholarships Office why the scholarship should not be cancelled.

Recipient may be invited to meet with the donor/s and feature in marketing materials to promote the scholarship.

Applications, including any supporting documentation, must be completed and submitted by the closing date.

Applicants may be shortlisted and be required to provide additional information. Shortlisted applicants will be required to be interviewed.

Griffith University reserves the right to withdraw an advertised scholarship at any time.
