The Fijian Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service (TSLS)and Griffith University have established a joint funding program to support suitably qualified Fijian citizens to enrol in the Doctor of Philosophy program at Griffith University.

Griffith will provide tuition fee scholarships to cover the full cost of tuition for up to three (3) years with a possible six (6) month extension.

TSLS sponsorship will include a stipend (of a minimum equivalent GUPRS rate) for up to three (3) years with a possible six (6) month extension, and visa length Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

Initial screening and recruitment will be the responsibility of TSLS and will involve the nomination of sponsored candidates by TSLS. Candidates are required to meet the TSLS sponsorship guidelines, including an area of research in disciplines relating to Fiji’s national priority areas identified each year.

Applicants nominated by TSLS will be eligible to apply for PhD admission and scholarship at Griffith, with final selection to be made by Griffith.

Applicants must meet all relevant Griffith academic entry requirements, including the prescribed level of English language proficiency for PhD admission and scholarships at Griffith. Candidates are required to hold a bachelor degree with first-class honours or second-class honours (Division A), or be regarded by Griffith as having an equivalent level of attainment, as specified on the  Equivalent qualifications for HDR program admission webpage.

Suitably qualified candidates supported by TSLS will then apply for admission to the Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) program at Griffith.
