Enhancing Griffith's international collaborations

Griffith's membership of university networks creates broad-ranging opportunities for strategic internationalisation activities and importantly, creates global connections for staff and students. Griffith also has the potential to give back to the global community through university networks by contributing Griffith's expertise and resources, investing for social good and drawing on our values and strengths to play a leadership and development role in the global higher education sector.

Worldwide Universities Network (WUN)

The is a global alliance of 24 leading research-intensive universities spanning 13 countries. Its mission is to address complex global challenges by connecting researchers and institutions to advance impactful, multidisciplinary solutions.

WUN focuses on four key research areas:

  • Climate Change: Developing strategies for sustainability and resilience.
  • Cultural Understanding: Strengthening global connections and addressing social challenges.
  • Public Health: Tackling health disparities and improving global wellbeing.
  • Higher Education and Research: Shaping the future of education and promoting equitable access to knowledge.

In 2024, Griffith University joined WUN, reinforcing its commitment to international collaboration and delivering research with global significance. As a WUN member, Griffith gains access to a diverse network of partnerships, research initiatives, and funding opportunities, all aimed at creating solutions to critical global issues.

For Griffith researchers, staff, and students, WUN membership means greater access to global projects, academic development opportunities, and innovative research collaborations. It also aligns with Griffith’s vision to create meaningful impact through research and education that transcends borders.

Association of Commonwealth Universities

Griffith is a member of the an international organisation of over 500 member universities in 50 countries across the Commonwealth, dedicated to building a better world through higher education.

Joining with the Association of Commonwealth Universities demonstrates Griffith’s commitment to living our values as articulated in the Strategic Plan 2020-2025 Creating a Future for All and as part of the core commitment to engaging for impact nationally and globally, including on the Sustainable Development Goals.
