Elliot Miller leveraged his knowledge of interactive design to develop Hearoes—an app that assists cochlear implant and hearing aid recipients to learn new sounds in an engaging, self-paced environment. His personal experience of living with profound deafness inspired him to look beyond the traditional purpose of games design—entertainment—to develop a tool that improves the lives of people experiencing hearing loss.
