Bridging the gap between workplace research, practice and policy

Our team of experts use rigorous academic processes to bridge the gap between workplace research, practice and policy to help meet the demands of a constantly changing and adapting business world.

We explore and utilise macro (international, societal, organisational) and micro (individual) level research around key contemporary workforce issues such as emotion; employee voice; collectivism; health and safety; wellbeing; equity, diversity and gender; and the management of human capital at work.

Director's message

The issues of where and how we work best have never been more prominent. These issues are increasingly relevant for workers today, due to significant changes in the structure of their work. We are living through an era of significant social, economic and technological changes, with organisations facing increasing issues of diversity and inclusion, the organisation and regulation of work, changes to work management and leadership practices, increased awareness of the health impacts of work, and changes to work as a career.

In the Centre for Work, Organisation and Wellbeing (WOW) we directly address these issues, and assess the impact of technology, remote working, diversity, platform workers, the design and organisation of work, and the wellbeing, engagement, and productivity of all workers. Our researchers conduct high quality research by working with industry to advance their performance, and by contributing to pertinent academic discussions in these areas.

We welcome discussions from industry looking to address these issues, and from researchers looking to excel in workplace research. Please do contact myself if you’d like to discuss further the research collaborations and opportunities we offer at WOW.
