Working title of Thesis: Implementing regenerative development in visitor economies to benefit people and places
Supervisor/s: Prof Susanne Becken and Dr Ross Westoby
Elevator Pitch: Regenerative development, or regeneration, is a new way of working beyond sustainability that delivers net positive benefits to people and places. My research takes regeneration from theory to practice in the context of the visitor economy in a regional, local government area. I have an industry partnership with the Noosa Council, researching and advising their economic development team to bring the principles of regeneration into their Destination Management Plan to inform a grassroots, bottom-up approach to tourism development.
I am open to research work. Please feel free to contact me via v.taverasdalmau@griffith.edu.au
